Amazing!

This is probably the 4th time I read this book, only this time I listened to the audio book and it was so well done. This is such a great story. Stephenie Meyer is such a talented writer and I wish so much she would continue and finish this series. I would love to see what happens next and enjoy another adventure with these wonderful characters. The love triangle in this story goes beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I admit that I was rather confused the first time I read this story and the first part was kind of annoying, until she runs away and joins the humans and then things get really exciting and crazy and I loved it. The second time through the first part made more sense and I loved it even more. I loved the characters especially the men Jared and Ian are both wonderful in their own way. They both make mistakes which makes them real. Melanie and Wanda and very different in turn and the way it ended was so amazing. I never saw that coming when I first read it and it was even more amazing as I read it again and again. Such a great story! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves SciFi, romance, action and adventure because this story has it all.

Never read Twilight so I'm coming in fresh

I never read any of the Twilight books so I came into this fresh. A lot of reviews say that Wanda is a lot like Bella, I can't say that for sure. A lot of reviews say this is a disappoint from Twilight, I can't say that either, I can only come from my point of view which has not been influenced by the Twilight books.
The point of a review is to recommend the book or not, I'm having a hard time recommending it, not because it was horribly bad, but because it wasn't very good, it fell right into the middle, it's mediocre and if you like mediocre then yeah, you can read it.
I really enjoyed the first act of this book, things were moving along very nicely and it was interesting to see Wanda struggling with the new memories and feelings left over from Melanie. It's not a new theme but it's always interesting when I read something that asks the question, "what makes us human?" That's basically what the first part of this book was about. Things were really fun until Wanda was found by her Uncle Jeb. Heck, even then it was still interesting as she tried to fit into a society that didn't trust her but, then it turned into a love story. I have no problem with love stories in books but when the love story becomes the entire focus of the book and we're no longer asking "what makes us human?" and instead we're asking, "wow, how is she going to deal with Ian and Jerald?" then the book just gets bogged down in silliness.
Also, I didn't really like Wanda too much, she was just too timid! I can understand that her kind wasn't violent but even the most dossal animal will fight back when threatened.
Then, we have the ending, which I don't want to get into if you haven't read it yet. The ending had me turning my Kindle off in frustration wondering why Miss Myers went with that ending, the book went two chapters too long (the book was too long to begin with anyway)and any emotion I felt toward anyone was wasted by the time I got to the epilog.

Compelling possession

Oddly compelling story about alien possession and the conflict of souls. Well told and a little creepy.
Keeps you on the edge of your seat for a while, hoping "folks" can get along, even with the best of intentions.
Waiting for the 2nd one to come along? Not like the vampire series, completely genuine drama and human outcome.
