Good insights about consumerism but not my type of read

It is a good book if you are seeking to learn about Marxist theory and the mindset of those opposing a market economy. Debord is too random at times and dense. Reading this book can become boredom. Again, it is a great exposure to Marxism, commodity fetishism, capitalism, and the perspective of the exploitation of laborers and the manipulation of the masses by well-crafted advertisement--the spectacle. Not my cup of tea, however.
