Perfect supplement to ecology lessons

I homeschool my son and have been using a video course for ecology, which is basically a professor giving lectures (just like in college). The problem is if my son has questions or doesn't understand something, he can't raise his hands and ask questions. This flexbook by CK-12 is concise, offers plenty of outside links to enhance the information given, has writing prompts and review questions. It is basic enough for our needs but allows for plenty of outside learning as well if we want to explore specific topics more. It also has some projects we can do to make studying ecology more fun for my son.

I am an health science major. I am required to take a few biology courses so I thought this book would help me understand things a bit better since it concentrates on one topic.
