Human Biology - Lives of Cells

A well written book, simple, easy to follow and full of useful information. I am in training for a 100 mile bicycle ride so i bought this book to better understand how the body works at the cell level. This will help me better understand why and how good nutrition effects the training and the outcome. I read a lot on training and nutrition and often times the authors refer to the "energy" you get from carbohydrates. I am getting down to the basic elements of the cell structure, (Mitochondria), an organelle found in large numbers in most cells, in which the biochemical processes of respiration and energy production occur. When I better understand how the body works then I can better understand the reasoning behind my training. It's a process that I would like to know more about. Recommend this book!
