Excellent reference for veteran writers and spot-on fundamentals for first time learners.

First things first, please do not rate this book negatively just because you were required to buy/rent this book for your classes. Also, shipping or customer service discrepancies have NOTHING to do with the publisher's of this book, so all of the other reviews complaining of that really need to be removed, has nothing to do with quality of the content of this book.
I'm currently in an Honors English course at my college and our professor has us using this as a reference, a back to basics if you will, on top of our other books. If you need a refresher of the fundamentals or you are simply learning them for the first time I think this is a great point of reference. I love to write and read in my free time, so this gives essential information for those learning to read or write critically and analytically. May purchase for reference down the road.
