When he finally gets the courage to profess his love to her, it ends up being too late. Despite her feelings, she rejects him, and he is heartbroken. The following day she gets in an argument with her mom and step dad and is shipped to Arizona to live with her dad.
Despite the despair of Amber rejecting him, he tries forgetting about his problems. He gets together with Joan, a sexy, flirty redhead. This creates an interesting love triangle as Amber suddenly shows interest in Greg. Amber also discovers a roadblock that changes everything.
Greg and his friends encounter several obstacles in this coming of age story that transcends teenage life in the 90’s. This story defines the meaning of friendship The motto they follow, “whatever makes you happy,” is taken to a whole new level.
This is the first book in a series that paints a picture of friendships, love, and trials that the Salt Lake Buds experience in their pursuit of happiness. This novel contains adult language and content.

Raw, Real, and Reflective

This is one of those books that draws you in, makes you fall in love with characters, and involves you emotionally in every twist-and-turn that takes place. The author is great at developing characters to a nearly 3 dimensional fullness, and the emotional roller coaster that is the High School days is portrayed with stunning clarity, unabashed rawness, and gripping detail.
A definite suggested read, especially for those who were experiencing their High School years in the mid to late 90's.

Fantastic

Hilliard does a fantastic job with his characters. He draws you into their drama, their parties, their relationship and their pain. He gets you to truly understand the dilemmas that they have. It is the whole high school experience. Can't wait until the next book.

Wow, a definite must read. Takes me back to High school and all the friendships and love everyone shares. I cant wait for the next book. Bring it on Hilliard, we can take it.
