flat mystery; distracting writing

I'm a great fan of classic (christie, doyle, etc.) mystery, and of the contemporary "cozy" mystery genre. I don't require my cozies to be particularly high- or even mid-brow, or to be untainted by other generic formulas (i also happen to love chick lit and rom com, both of which are freely blended with the mystery in this novel). but the mystery itself is beyond predictable (as is the romance); even reading carelessly, you'll porobably guess the ending by page 20. Beyond that I found the writing distractingly bad. the distraction is only amplified by the poor kindle conversion here, which is full of typos.

Editor and/or spellchecker needed

I love cozy mysteries & this one sounded interesting so I purchased it for my Paperwhite. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. It started out well, but I was unpleasantly surprised to encounter a glaring spelling error (really a misused word) early in the book. I continued to find dozens of misspelled words & grammatical errors throughout the book. Maybe I'm a "grammar Nazi" but it made it impossible to concentrate on the story. Even disregarding the grammar & spelling errors, the book itself wasn't all that good. Too short & very little character development. The plot was thin also & the ending almost contrived. I finished the book & even read the next two in the series, but only because I had already purchased them. The next two were just as bad. Very, very disappointed. Unless Miss Dobbs has polished her grammar & writing skills, I won't be reading any more of her books & I definitely will not recommend them.

Where's the editor?

This book was so poorly written I can't get over it. Not only was the style like that of a teenage girl, there were typos throughout. From mistakes in plural nouns and possessive nouns on nearly every page, to the wrong word used in many phrases "adrenaline cursing through her veins" instead of coursing. Really? I have no idea how this was ever published. The mistakes were distracting but maybe that was good because the writing itself was terrible. It was at adolescent in style and I'm a girl who likes a cheesy mystery romance. This was well beyond cheesy. There was no mystery. And the writing was choppy and made every character seem not only unbelievable but like they lack intelligence.
